Milk thistle was already used by the ancient Romans and Greeks as a beneficial plant. Much research has been done on milk thistle over the years. In 1954 it was shown that the effectiveness of milk thistle had a lot to do with the flavonoid complex silymarin. This ingredient is known for its liver protective properties. Milk thistle is good for digestion* thanks to its beneficial effect on the body after consuming fats, alcohol and sugars. In addition, it supports the cleansing effect of the liver*.
