Organic Fiber Complex - Psyllium & Inulin - 275 grams
The average fiber consumption in the Netherlands is 20 grams per day, while the Nutrition Center recommends consuming about 30 to 40 grams of dietary fiber per day.
Mattisson biological fiber complex is composed of Agave Inulin and Psyllium fibers. Within the group of fibers there are two varieties: soluble (prebiotics) and insoluble fibers. The Agave Inulin in this product is a soluble fiber, the Psyllium an insoluble fiber.
What is Agave Inulin?
Agave tequilana (also called the 'blue agave') is an agave with blue-gray leaves. The “blue” agave cactus grows at an altitude of 1,500 meters in Mexico. It takes 6-7 years before the plant is fully grown and can be harvested. Agave Inulin is virtually tasteless and colorless and gives a creamy texture to food.
These soluble fibers (prebiotics) end up undigested in the large intestine, where they are broken down by bacteria through fermentation into short-chain fatty acids (acetate, butyrate and propionate). These fatty acids serve as an energy source for, among other things, the intestinal epithelium. Fermentable fibers include fibers from vegetables, fruit, potatoes, legumes and of course the inulin from this product.
What is Psyllium?
Psyllium (Psyllium) consists of the seed coats of plant seeds and consists of more than 80% fiber. Just like oatmeal and whole wheat products, psyllium fibers belong to the insoluble and non-fermentable fibers: they are not absorbed by the body, but they do contribute to digestion. Psyllium supports natural bowel movements* and contributes to a feeling of fullness*.
When using this product, ensure sufficient fluid intake.
