Erythritol - 400 g
What is Erythritol?
Erythritol is a natural sweetener that occurs naturally in some mushrooms, fruits and fermented foods. Erythritol is produced through natural fermentation and has approximately 70% of the sweetening power of regular sugar. It is an ideal substitute for cane, beet sugar or other sweeteners. Erythritol gives a sweet taste to smoothies, yogurt, snacks, drinks, ice cream and other (desserts) dishes.
Erythritol is absorbed in the small intestine and excreted via the urinary tract.
Glycemic index & blood sugar level
Erythritol has a glycemic index of 0. The glycemic index (GI) says something about the speed at which carbohydrates are digested in the intestine and absorbed into the blood as glucose. The lower the GI, the better for blood sugar levels. The blood sugar level represents the amount of insulin in the blood.
