Regular price €14,96The Carduus marianus is known in Dutch as milk thistle, and in Latin as Silybum marianum. Carduus means thistle and marianus refers to the biblical name Mary. Milk thistle was already used by the ancient Romans and Greeks as a beneficial plant. Much research has been done on milk thistle over the years. In 1954 it was shown that the effectiveness of milk thistle had a lot to do with the flavonoid complex silymarin. This ingredient is known for its liver protective properties. Milk thistle is good for digestion* thanks to its beneficial effect on the body after consuming fats, alcohol and sugars. In addition, it supports the cleansing effect of the liver*.
