This 2-star Great Taste Award-winning honey comes from a beekeeper in the Ribatejo, who produces spectacular honeys. This is an 89% Eucalyptus honey, very pure (very unusual). The Ribatejo, just outside Lisbon, is known for its beautiful honey.
It is quite sweet, starting as rich dark amber and crystallizing into a thick buttery texture. It has the truly distinctive mild sweetness of Eucalyptus honey and is extremely addictive if you have a sweet tooth. It has been variously described as rich, resinous and with strong caramel notes. It is an almost perfect example of raw Eucalyptus honey.
Like all Eucalyptus honey, it has well-known antibacterial properties and is also perfect for your winter medicine cupboard.
