Bee pollen - Pollen grains - 300 g
What is Bee Pollen?
Pollen is the fine powder that the male part of a flower makes and secretes. Bees collect this pollen and add honey or nectar to it, creating grains, sometimes you see these grains on their legs. These grains are called bee pollen and are taken to the beehive. In the hive they serve as food for the queen and to protect the hive against bacteria and fungi. Our bee pollen comes from Spain.
Immune system
Your immune system is important because it protects you against outside invaders. It is designed to defend your body against foreign substances such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites and toxins. This immune system is extremely strong, but also very complex. Bee pollen supports a healthy immune system**, a healthy cholesterol balance** and increases appetite** In addition, bee pollen works as an antioxidant and thus provides protection against free radicals.**
Essential amino acids
Bee pollen contains all essential amino acids. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. Proteins are essential for our body, they are the building blocks of our body but also of our cells and tissues. They are important, among other things, for older people to maintain muscle mass and strength. But also for athletes who want to support their body in building and repairing their muscles.* The combination of different vegetable protein sources makes it a complete composition of all essential amino acids.
Vitamins & Minerals
Bee pollen is a source of B vitamins. B vitamins support proper functioning of the nervous system and a good energy balance.* Bee pollen is rich in Vitamin A, this vitamin supports normal growth, healthy skin, hair, nails and proper functioning of the eyes and immune system.*
Difference between organic and conventional bee pollen
The biological hives may only be placed in fields with an organic environment. For example, the bees can only collect nectar and pollen from flowers that have not been treated with pesticides. The entire production process of organic bee pollen is certified and an audit is carried out annually. The biological hives may not be moved and fewer interventions are made in the bees' behavior.
Bee pollen can cause an (allergic) reaction, especially in people with sensitivity to pollen. It is therefore wise to increase usage from 0.5 teaspoon to 2 tablespoons.
