Vitakruid Vitamin K Baby Drops
Recommended by the health council and midwives
After birth, all babies are immediately given 1,000 mcg of vitamin K. Infants do not have the right intestinal bacteria to produce vitamin K themselves during the first three months. Moreover, they receive relatively little vitamin K through the placenta and breast milk. That is why vitamin K levels are immediately replenished through supplementation.
When and how much?
The dose of vitamin K that the baby receives from the midwife after birth is good for the first week. An additional 150 mcg of vitamin K is therefore recommended every day from day 8 to the end of month 4.
Vitamin K
Vitamin K2 is found in food of animal origin such as cottage cheese and cheeses, but also in natto, or fermented soy beans. Babies often have low vitamin K levels at birth. And while this vitamin is essential for them.
K1 & K2
Our product contains vitamin K1 and vitamin K2. This is unique, because you mainly find vitamin K1 in most foods and supplements. A shame, we think, because both have a specific function for the baby. Moreover, with the Baby K bottle you have just enough for the first 4 months!
- Vitamin K, for the absorption of minerals/calcium in the bones.
- Vitamin K contributes to proper blood clotting.
