What is Magnolia Extract?
Magnolia Extract , also called Hou Po in traditional Chinese medicine, is an extract of the whole bark of the magnolia tree. Modern research has identified the active compounds honokiol and magnolol as the major biphenolic components in magnolia bark. Both compounds occur naturally together in the plant, with only minor structural differences. In addition, magnolia extract also contains other active ingredients, including eudesmol , a triterpene compound.
