When food leaves the stomach and enters the small intestine, various digestive juices are added. These fluids contain enzymes. Enzymes process the food we consume into nutrients, which the body can then use. The pancreas secretes three enzymes into the small intestine: amylase, protease and lipase. Amylase digests carbohydrates such as starch from potatoes and pasta. As a starting dose, take 1 to 2 capsules 3 times a day with water during or immediately after a meal; maximum 6 capsules per day. Children from 2 to 12 years take 1 capsule 3 times a day as a starting dose; maximum 3 capsules per day. If desired, you can later switch to a maintenance dose of 1 capsule per day.
