Biofilm Neutralizer*
What is Biofilm Neutralizer with EDTA?
Biofilm Neutralizer with EDTA contains a combination of two enzymes, trypsin and serrapeptidase , along with alpha-lipoic acid and EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) in a delayed-release capsule (DRCaps®). This formula is designed to break the bonds that hold biofilm together. Microbes often grow in a biofilm, a slimy layer that protects them from the immune system and host defenses. Biofilm is made up of proteins, polysaccharides, and organic compounds, along with divalent cations (positively charged metallic elements).
Serrapeptidase and trypsin are proteolytic enzymes that can cleave the structural proteins in the biofilm and release the substance from the underlying tissue structure, without damaging the tissues themselves. EDTA works synergistically by weakening and breaking the bond between calcium ions and alginate (a polysaccharide in the biofilm).
