What is Pycnogenol®?
Pycnogenol® is a patented extract derived from the bark of the Pinus Pinaster pine tree, a tree that grows on the southwestern coast of France. The bark of this tree contains a unique combination of polyphenols, including oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs) and organic acids such as ferulic acid, cinnamic acid and caffeic acid. These substances are naturally present in high concentrations, which is why pine bark extract is used in many health products.
