Cortisol dysregulation
This collection is designed for people with a disrupted cortisol pattern, such as elevated cortisol in the evening, a flattened day-night rhythm, or a lack of a morning peak. Such disruptions can manifest as sleep problems, daytime fatigue, irritability, cognitive fog, abdominal fat storage, or restlessness during rest periods.
The supplements in this collection are aimed at:
- regulating the natural day-night rhythm of cortisol
- supporting the HPA axis (hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis)
- lowering excessively high evening or nighttime cortisol levels
- supporting a disrupted morning start
- modulating stress response and energy distribution
This collection is intended for people with structural disruption of the stress system, and not exclusively for temporary moments of stress.
Supplements in this collection may contain:
Phosphatidylserine
Helps lower elevated cortisol levels, especially during evening stress. It works through feedback on the HPA axis and supports relaxation.
Ashwagandha (KSM-66 or Sensoril®)
An adaptogen that can be used for both high and low cortisol levels. It balances the stress system and supports mood, sleep, and focus.
Rhodiola rosea
Suitable for reduced morning response or cognitive slowness. Supports energy production and stress adaptation.
L-theanine
Calming agent in green tea that enhances GABA activity. Supports cortisol levels, anxiety, and restlessness.
Magnolia bark extract (honokiol)
Inhibits excessive HPA activation, helps lower cortisol levels, and also enhances GABA activity. Ideal for restless sleepers experiencing tension.
Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid)
Essential for the production of adrenal hormones. Supports energy metabolism during prolonged stress.
Magnesium (e.g. bisglycinate or taurate)
Reduces nervous irritability, supports relaxation and indirectly inhibits the stress response.
Cortisol-lowering herbs such as lemon balm, valerian, passion flower
Suitable for increased evening activity or restless sleep. They have a regulating effect, not a sedative.
Licorice root (licorice root extract, glycyrrhizin-free or low-glycyrrhizin)
Sometimes suitable for low morning cortisol levels or chronic adrenal hypofunction. Use with caution.
