Golden Naturals 5-HTP 250 mg contains the amino acid L-5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP), extracted from the seeds of the native West African plant Griffonia simplicifolia, also known as California poppy in the Netherlands. Griffonia simplicifolia is good for the nervous system* and is considered a precursor of serotonin ('happiness hormone') and melatonin, because it influences the formation of these important neurotransmitters.
