Vitakruid Symflora baby probiotics
Vitakruid Symflora baby probiotics
For the important first year of life
Probiotics are appropriate for each phase of life and meet the needs of that period. The probiotic strains for Symflora® Baby have been selected based on the needs in the important first year of life.
The probiotics can easily be added to bottle feeding and expressed breastfeeding or rubbed around the nipple when breastfeeding.
Happy mother, happy baby
Symflora® Baby is not only suitable for babies but also for (expectant) mothers. This probiotic can be used from week 32 of pregnancy and during breastfeeding. After all, you pass on the nutrition and supplements you consume during pregnancy and breastfeeding to your baby.
Four strains with scientific substantiation
Research shows that a multi-strain probiotic is more effective than a single-strain probiotic. You can compare it with a team of people with different backgrounds. With their different qualities they can help and complement each other.
The first bacterial strains to colonize a baby's intestines are mainly bifidobacteria. With this knowledge in mind, Vitakruid has chosen a formula with no fewer than four bifidobacterium strains for Symflora® Baby.
High survival rate after 24 hours
The survival rate of the bacterial strains after passing through our digestive system is important for the quality of a probiotic. During digestion, probiotics are exposed to various substances – such as stomach acid and bile – that aid in digestion. There are probiotics that do not survive the acidity of your stomach, resulting in fewer living microorganisms actually reaching your intestines.
Probiotic activity is more important than Kve/g
A study by Winclove probiotics in collaboration with the University of Maastricht shows that the (cfu/g)* in Symflora® remains relatively stable after going through our digestive system. In other words, the number of probiotics you take has a high survival rate. They therefore pass through the digestive system largely undamaged and therefore also have a higher metabolic activity. In short, metabolic activity represents the level of activity that bacterial strains within our digestive system achieve without causing damage.
Passing the survival and metabolic activity test are relevant indicators for selecting a good probiotic. It is regularly said that the number of colony-forming units (cfu/g)* is leading. The more (cfu/g)*, the better the product. However, this is a misunderstanding. Because what is the importance of a large amount (cfu/g)* if the bacteria all die in our stomach acid?
*CFU/g The abbreviation (cfu/g) comes from the English abbreviation (cfu/g), which means colony forming units per gram. In Dutch we have the term; colony forming units per gram of made. The bacterial count or colony forming units per gram represent the number of colonies of probiotics present in one gram of the product. One gram of Symflora® Baby contains 109 (cfu/g).
With ProbioAct® technology
Bacteria are vulnerable for which Vitakruid has chosen the ProbioAct® technology. Nutrients have been chosen that contribute to the survival, metabolic activity and stability of the probiotics. The technology guarantees that the bacterial strains can be stored at room temperature and that they survive the digestive juices in the gastrointestinal tract.
Sachet protects against moisture, light and air
When choosing the packaging for Symflora® Baby, sachets were chosen. This form of packaging has several advantages over other methods. A product in a sachet remains optimally protected against moisture, light and air.
Furthermore, the probiotics in this product only exist in an inactive state to ensure their shelf life. When the bacteria come into contact with water they become active again.
