What is Vitakruid Symflora baby probiotics?
Baby probiotics from Vitakruid, also known as Symflora® Baby, is a powdered food supplement formulated for the first year of life. These baby probiotics contain four selected bifidobacterium strains and come in convenient sachets. The product is intended for babies, but also for (expectant) mothers from week 32 of pregnancy and during breastfeeding. You can easily add the powder to formula or expressed breast milk, or apply it around the nipple when breastfeeding. Each sachet provides 1 x 10⁹ colony-forming units. The contents are dissolved in lukewarm water, after which the bacteria become active from their inactive state.
The formula combines four bifidobacterium strains: Bifidobacterium animalis (W12), Bifidobacterium breve (W25), Bifidobacterium lactis (W51) and Bifidobacterium longum (W108). Vitakruid uses ProbioAct® technology, where nutrients are added that contribute to the stability and shelf life of the strains at room temperature. The sachets protect the powder from moisture, light and air. The probiotics are present in an inactive state and become active upon contact with water.
